Self-Portraits

After a guided discovery with oil pastels, students used them to create self-portraits. Recognizing that we all look different and that no two children are alike, we closely tried to capture our own distinct qualities. With the guidance of our buddies, students drew themselves using true to life colors and features.  Students thought deeply about themselves and what they look like and patience was seen around the room as they completed their first self-portraits of the year (there will be many more opportunities this year).  INQUIRE with your child what was challenging for them during this activity?
