We reunited with our buddies today and it was amazing to see the
relationships between our two classes develop. After reading Lois'
Ehlert's fiction story, "Leaf Man" the students set out to Harrison
Field to choose and gather leaves to create their own version of
themselves through leaves. If you aren't familiar with this story,
INQUIRE with your child or ask them to tell you how they plan to go
about making their leaf person. Along the way and in the field, our
kindergarten buddies taught the fourth graders how to use owl eyes, deer
ears, raccoon touch, and fox walking. Before heading back to school, we
played a quick game. INQUIRE with your child why they put leaves near
the bare tree! Next week when we get together, students will work
together to recreate the leaf man!
