Leaf Identification, Rubbings, and Labeling

As a follow up to our ECO outing last week, we spent our integrated science block this morning looking closely at the common leaves found around our Montpelier community. We studied the characteristics of maple, beech, birch, poplar, and oak and completed leaf rubbings of each one.  After learning about the similarities and differences between these leaves, children created a book, labeling each rubbing.  INQUIRE with your child as they walk around Montpelier what trees they can identify.
