As a wrap up to our insect unit, students spent some time thinking about the parts an insect has. After making a 'plan' for a costume, students set out and used a variety of materials to turn themselves into an insect of their choice. We had bees, fireflies, ladybugs, beetles, and so much more! Thanks to the Joyners and Garrows for sending in some extra materials for us to use in our creations! The class joined the rest of the first graders in a parade around the school. We stopped by a handful of classrooms to share our unique and creative costumes off!
