Story Telling in Math

Many workplaces require children to create story problems in which frogs, insects, sea creatures, etc are doing something.  Bugs in the house subtraction engages students to think about what happens when you take something away and Frog Number Line is helping students learn how to use a number line in a fun and engaging way.  Learning multiple ways to solve addition and subtraction problems is important as students begin to work with larger numbers.  How many ways can your child show their thinking to solve the number sentence 10-7.  Can they explain why the answer is 3? Enjoy listening to these children create stories about their frogs and insects (you'll have to go to the blog for direct viewing).
