Keith Haring

This past week, we engaged in our first artist study of the year. To coincide with our community unit, we have been studying the work of Keith Haring, who grew up in New York City and began creating murals along the walls of a subway.  As his work evolved, he began to focus on relationships among people and using his work to bring laughter and love to children around the world.  In all his pictures, he shows people working and playing together and making his own work come to life - a focus that we've had in our writing over these past 2 weeks.

Enjoy this slideshow of Keith Harings' own work and inquire with your child what they learned about what the techniques he uses in each piece?
