We have just about finished learning about our last artist for the year. Georgia O'Keefe was an american artist who painted various objects in nature. Of all her paintings, she was most famous for her magnified paintings of flowers. These paintings conveyed her love for nature. We spent some time today practicing Georgia's style and observing her work. Closing in and magnifying a flower was a challenging task for our kindergarteners but they did it! Okeefe's paintings will lead us into a focus on plants this spring. INQUIRE with your child what they know about Georgia's childhood.
You'll have to see their final product April 16th at our kinder show. Don't forget to put this date on your calendars - music show will begin at 630 and the art show to follow. We look forward to celebrating our accomplishments and showing off our artistic skills to our family and friends.
