As we finish two response to text writing pieces in conjunction with "I wish I had Duck Feet" and "Hortan Hatches an Egg" we have been reflecting on what Dr. Seuss books were our favorite. Wacky Wednesday was the book that received the most votes. As a culmination to the Dr. Seuss study, children watched, "Horton Hears a Who" read aloud and acted out on DVD. Students found "evidence" as they did in the book that Horton CARED a lot about the Whos. INQUIRE with your child what Dr. Seuss book was their favorite! Students look forward to diving into nonfiction in reading and writing. Students will be reading All About Books in literacy and writing their own All About books in writers workshop.
