This week in number corner we have been focusing on improving our math fluency in naming numbers that come before and after a number. Although most children can always name the number that comes before and after a certain number, it often takes a bit of time. We have been practicing activities to help us become more fluent with this task. This week, we've added a workplace to help us. Students have been working with a partner to race either themselves or their peer at completing the before and after puzzle. You could help your child continue to develop this at home by orally giving them numbers and having them state the number that comes before or after a particular number. How quickly can they do it? You will find that naming the number before is often a more difficult task!
