4 Winds - Predator/Prey
"Herbivores and carnivores both must eat, but the challenges these two
groups of animals face in getting enough to eat are very different.
Plant eaters don't have to stalk their food, but they do need to keep
from being eaten while they browse. And carnivores spend lots of time
and energy looking for and capturing their prey. Students spent the morning comparing the characteristics of both of these groups of animals and learned all about the special adaptations different animals have to help them survive." INQUIRE with your child what animals are predators, what animals are prey. Can they name a physical characteristic peculiar to this animal that helps it either catch prey or escape from their predator? Suzanne led the mornings activities and snagged Lisa (thank-you both) to help perform the puppet show!
