Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

As we prepare for our upcoming field trip, my class has been reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  Ask your child what has happened in the book so far. These prompts might help initiate conversation about the book.  Describe the characters who have received golden tickets so far.  Tell me about Charlie's family.  Who is Willy Wonka?  Did Charlie have a chance to win the golden ticket?  What do we know about the chocolate factory so far?  What movies are you making in your mind as Miss Closter reads?  (It's a chapter  book with very few pictures so we've been practicing our visualizing skills!)   The children have been so ecstatic and have thoroughly enjoyed listening to this story thus far.
