Animal Research Mini-Projects
We are starting to investigate our NAP animals in more depth. Each child has been assigned an animal that resides in Vermont. The students often reference one another at school and when out in the forest and discuss various characteristics of their own animal. We are learning more about each animal by doing some whole group research before we set off to write a mini-report about our animal in the upcoming weeks. Ask your child what animal they have been assigned and inquire what they know about this particular Vermont species. If you have any photos/books etc about any of our Vermont animals, we'd love to borrow them! Some of our animals include: white tailed deer, black capped chicadee, squirrel, red fox, raccoon, monarch butterfly, bobcat, yellow spotted salamander, mouse, coyote, wood frog, chipmunk, fisher cat.
