Ramps

The children have now had a number of sessions to explore how balls behave on ramps and roadways. In today's lesson, students continued to explore the movement in a more focused way.  Drawing on their experiences in class and out, they began to make connections between the nature of the ball (size, weight, smoothness) and how it rolls, and the height of a ramp and how a ball rolls.  In this learning experience, they rolled their balls down two ramps that start at different heights and observed what happened.  In the next week or so, we will begin our science focus on the states of matter - solids, liquids, and gasses.
