WOW! Scientific inquiry is already happening before your eyes. As you help your child search for monarch caterpillars, be sure to take a minute....step back....and observe the wonder and curiosity in your five year old. I observed this today while interacting with a classmate in their home. As she continues her quest to find the name of this caterpillar, found on a milkweed in her backyard, perhaps you may provide some insight for her as a comment below!

The beginning...
It was a pleasure today spending time with many of our new classmates today. It is so important for your child to make connections to their teacher, even prior to the first day of school. I wanted to thank you in advance for welcoming Emily and I into your home. I hope we were able to put you at ease and help you answer any questions that still remained. Please feel free to let me know if you have any last minute questions. I'm here to help you make the transition to UES as easy as I can. Also, if you haven't heard, there will be a coffee hour in the cafeteria for all new Kindergarten families on the first day of school. Once you say your farewells on the playground to your chidlren, please join other families for some time to regroup, meet new parents, and reflect on sending your child off!

Classroom Getting Ready
Our classroom is nearly ready! I'm about to take a vacation for the next few weeks to visit my family in Rhode Island, so I've been working hard to get things in place before I leave. Here are some pictures from today. Click on the picture to enlarge the photo! If you have any questions or would like to get in touch with me, please email me at jillc@mpsvt.org.
